Gros Manseng - Reserve 2022
Pronounced “Grow Mon-song,” Gros Manseng is an exciting aromatic variety originating from the southwest of France, and this Reserve 2022 release showcases its depth, texture, and ageing potential.
A small portion of the wine was aged in French oak barrels, adding layers of complexity and a beautifully rounded mouthfeel. The palate is textured and expressive, unfolding with tropical fruit flavours of grapefruit, lime, and ripe nectarine, complemented by a subtle hint of honey. Oak integration brings softness and structure, carrying the wine through to a long, mouth-watering finish that lingers effortlessly.
This is our third vintage of this exciting alternative grape variety, first planted at Sancerre Estate in 2015, and it continues to impress with each release—balancing vibrancy, richness, and finesse.
Perfect for: Wine lovers seeking something distinctive, richer seafood dishes, creamy sauces, lightly spiced cuisine, or when you want a white with texture and presence
Here is what Halliday Wine Companion had to say
‘This is quite intense but retains a great deal of freshness, distinct saline, mineral qualities, richness of salted cashew, hazelnut and a lift of light honey. It's nashi pear, cumquat, pickled Japanese ginger and some umami-like nori seaweed characters. Exotic, and outstanding. A textural white of complexity with impressive credentials’
